After a Phd funded by a FRIA grant from FRS-FNRS (Belgium) under supervision of Prof. Axel Legay, I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Cloud and Large Scale computing group lead by Prof. Etienne Rivière. I am also the program manager of CyberExcellence project.

I am responsible of the course LINGI2144 - Secured System Engineering at UCLouvain together with Gaetan Cassiers for 2024-2025 & 2025-2026. I also animate the DefCon group 3210 of LLN .

I am reviewer for Computers & Security journal.

Projects

I am currently participating to the following externally-funded projects at UCLouvain:

  • Wallonia region CyberExcellence: Assisting in the coordination of multi-university project on CyberSecurity research (lead: Prof Etienne Rivière)
  • AIDecompiler - Wallonia region Win4Doc (2025-2028) in collaboration with Hex-Rays: Improving decompilation with artificial intelligence (UCLouvain PI: Prof. Ramin Sadre).
  • CWAF Coodeviis (2023-2026) in collaboration with Approach Belgium: Improving Web Application Firewall configuration and management (UCLouvain PI: Prof. Olivier Bonaventure).

My Research

I am interested in machine learning application to cybersecurity problems but also the security of machine learning algorithms. My thesis was about malware analysis with symbolic execution and machine learning. Here is a list of topics I have explored or would like to research in the future.

  • Symbolic execution for malware analysis
  • Machine learning for malware analysis and detection
  • Explainability of machine learning for cybersecurity
  • Adversarial attacks against machine learning models
  • Packing detection and classification with machine learning
